Free for teachers

Mark a class set of essays in the time it takes to photograph it.

Uandishi marks your class's handwritten compositions and insha against the CBC rubric, so you can spend your time teaching. Teachers never pay.

What teachers get

  • Batch scanning

Photograph each script and tag it to a learner from your class list. One sample is marked at once; the rest within a day.

  • Review and override

Check any result, change a level and add a comment. Parents see "Reviewed by teacher".

  • Class analysis

Who has written, who hasn't, and the mistakes the whole class makes.

  • Assignments and holiday packs

Set an essay with a due date, or a holiday pack of topics that families can write at home.

  • Parents in the loop

Parents link to their child with a class code or a text; they see a free glimpse of each result.

  • Return slips

Print a slip for each learner with their level and a link for their parents.

How your school joins

No paperwork. A pending school can start at once, on a trial.

  1. 1. Register Find your school by name or its 8-digit KNEC code, or add it.
  2. 2. Confirm We text a code to the head teacher's phone to confirm.
  3. 3. Agree Accept the standard school agreement, written for schools as data controllers.
  4. 4. Invite Invite your teachers and import class lists. Marking can start the same day.

Teach without a school?

Tutors and teachers whose school isn't on Uandishi yet can sign up on their own. Build your classes and assignments at once; once we've checked who you are, upload essays and invite parents.

Fair use, in plain words

Marking is free for teachers with no page cap, paid for by the parents who choose to unlock their child's full feedback. If a school's use is far out of line, we warn first and talk to you; we never cut a school off.
